Materuni Falls/Coffee Tour/Local Brews


Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. This charming place is place 15 km away from Moshi Town and is the last village before the Kilimanjaro National Park. You will be picked up in Moshi in the morning by our English speaking guide who will drive you to Materuni Village. 

First you will visit the waterfalls which are around a 40 minute walk away. Your guide will inform you about the Chagga culture and explain about the local plants. The falls are more than 80 meters high, and the pool at the bottom is great for swimming so bring swimwear!

Return to Materuni Village and experience a traditional Chagga lunch. Here you can also try banana beer!

Next the coffee experience awaits you! Learn how coffee in cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. Take part in grinding the coffee, traditionally accompanied by Chagga song and dance! Savor the coffee you made before saying goodbye and returning to Moshi. 

Kikuletwa Hot Springs



We'll pick you up in Moshi and drive 1.5 hours. Take a dip in the warm springs and explore the area. 

This water is from Kilimanjaro and is refreshingly pure. Crystal clean, it wells up from underground. Experience the strong natural currents when close to the water source

Try out the rope swing!

Surrounded by palm and fig trees you will feel as though you are in Paradise. 

Relax under the shady trees before we return you to Moshi.

Hadzabe Bushmen and Lake Eyasi (2 person min)


The Hadzabe are a tribe of hunter gathers who live in the area around Lake Eyasi. They live in the dry land  south of Ngorongoro Crater. The have  been here for 3000 years.
 Their moves are normally by climate changes and the availability of wild animals ,fruits and vegetation for their animals.

You will learn about the Hadzabe people's culture, lifestyle, and history.

Dip your feet in salty Lake Eyasi before heading back to your hotel.

Get picked up at your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive with us to Karatu, where we'll have a local dinner and sleep.

Wake up early to join the Bushmen as they hunt with bow and arrow for impala, dikdik, and birds. Collects root and fruits to eat. Listen to their teachings about the culture and lifestyle, enjoy a piece of meat over the fire. 

In the afternoon, visit the neighboring tribe and see how they use blacksmithing to turn scrap copper and brass into jewelry. Stop at Lake Eyasi for some photos before heading on the journey home.

Early in the morning we'll start our tour from Moshi or Arusha driving to Mto Wa Mbuu. Then you have a choice of taking a bicycle or use the vehicle to see Lake Manyara.

After the lake we will head to the Maasai community. There you will learn about Maasai culture, see the tribal singing and dancing, and look inside the home. Join them as they care for cattle, or try wearing their traditional clothing.

At this point you can choose to return with us to Arusha/Moshi, or stay for dinner, campfire and overnight in Maasai house, sleeping on their traditional cow skins.

Mungioni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation

A tour to Mungioni waterfall and Village and Waterfalls is a great way to spend a day away from the bustle of town life. The walk to Mungioni  Waterfall offers a glimpse into the nature of Tanzania allowing you either to prepare your body for the forthcoming climb to Kilimanjaro or ease your muscles after the climb.

The tour starts with a walk to Mungioni Waterfall. It is an opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grow, as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life. When you get to the waterfall, you can refresh yourself in the natural pool, so swimsuits will come in handy!

The tour will continue with a visit to the local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from a bean to a cup. Sing and dance along with the Chagga people as they are grinding, roasting and boiling the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch - a national Chagga meal.

Day Trip to Lake Chala .

Lake Chala is a crater lake in a caldera located on the border of Tanzania and Kenya on the eastern end of Kilimanjaro. This place is a real find for tourists who like panoramic views and quiet recreation.

In the morning, after the transfer to the lake, you will find yourself on the edge of the crater to see the wonderful views of the tropical forest and the lake. On the way to the lake, you are highly likely to see baboons. At the lake you can go canoeing, relishing the beautiful African nature. Your lunch will be served afterwards. On the way back to the hotel you will see Mt Kilimanjaro in all its glory.
